4 1/2 lb beef stew meat 2 ealarge, sliced onion, white 3 eadiced tomato 1 clvmashed garlic 1 tmashed, fresh ginger root 2 T curry powder, Indian 1 t turmeric powder 3 ea cinnamon sticks 1 ea coriander leaf (optional)1 ea curry leaf (optional)1/2 T salt 1 c peas, frozen 2 cdiced Potato, baking
Cut meat into serving pieces, wash or rinse. Add 1/2 cup cooking oil in pot, add onions and let braise till light brown. Add garlic and ginger which have been mashed. Add curry powder, tumeric and cinnamon. Add meat, cook 15 minutes. Add tomatoes, peas and potatoes. Simmer till tender, adding warm water if needed to keep from sticking. Place leaves on top.
Serve over rice (Basmati is good) or serve with Naan.
