1/2 cto 1 cup sugar 1 3/4 cto 2 cup sugar, brown 1 c butter 1 t vanilla 2 c flour 4 c flour, whole wheat 1 t baking soda 2 t baking powder 1/2 t salt 1 c milk 1/4 c cinnamon (optional)
Cream sugars and butter together until fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Sift together flours, soda, baking powder cinnamon, and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk into creamed mixture, mix thoroughly. Roll out on a lightly floured board (the thinner you roll out the crispier the cracker) cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees until golden in color. Cool completely before storing in airtight container.
My kids especially like these as animal crackers or large hearts and stars with shaped cut from the middle of the cookie.
We often add cinnamon sugar to the top before baking
