3/4 csoftened butter 1 cpacked sugar, brown 1/2 c sugar 1/4 c milk 1 ealarge egg 1 t vanilla extract 1 c flour, all purpose 1 1/2 tground cinnamon 1/4 tground cloves 1/2 t baking soda 1/4 t salt 3 c oatmeal, quick cooking 1 c raisins 1 ccoarsely chopped walnuts (optional)1 c chocolate chips, semisweet (optional)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F
Beat butter, sugars, milk, egg and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
Combine flour, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture; mix well.
Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts and chocolate chips.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely.
Optional: Use orange peel instead of cloves
