1 1/4 c butter 2 c sugar 2 ea egg 2 t vanilla extract 2 c flour 3/4 c cocoa powder 1 t baking soda 1/2 t salt 1 cfinely chopped nuts (optional)
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Drop by tsp onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 9 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Cookies will be soft. Cool on sheet until set, 1 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool.
